An Act of Care in rehearsal, photography by Beth Knight
In association with Sheffield Theatres, we are so excited to be offering a range of free opportunities for artists based in Yorkshire to develop their practice in response to some of the provocations and themes around our new production in development, Shirley: An Awakening.
Workshop 1: For Artists / Technologists
Collaborative Approaches to Music Technology in New Work
Two day-long workshops exploring collaborative approaches to music technology in new work. It's an opportunity for music producers/technologists who want to gain experience developing new work in collaboration with others, using and expanding their skill-set; and artists with limited experience of music & sound technologies who want to embed technology into the way they work.
Workshop 1 - Wednesday 16 July
Workshop 2 - Thursday 24 July
Artists need to be available for both workshop days. Deadline for applications: Sunday 22 June.
Workshop 2: For Theatre-Makers/Companies Interested in Site-Sensitive & Immersive Work
Theatre Making in Non-Traditional Spaces
Two day-long workshops exploring theatre making in non-traditional spaces and working with audiences as active participants. Across two days you will be led through practical exercises in developing responsive work from conception to production, leaving with a toolkit to support the on-going development of your work as well as bespoke feedback.
Workshop 1 - Wednesday 27 August
Workshop 2 - Wednesday 3 September
Artists need to be available for both workshop days. Deadline for applications: Sunday 20 July.
